货币互换 Currency swap

12月24日举行的国务院常务会议传出消息，广东与港澳地区的货物贸易可进行人民币结算试点，这令外贸人士非常惊喜，而香港则有望成为中国的人民币结算中心。

The mainland signed a currency swap deal with Hong Kong on Nov 20. Earlier this year, the government also gave the go-ahead to let Chinese banks issue yuan-denominated bonds in Hong Kong.

大陆与香港于今年11月20日签订了货币互换协议。今年年初，政府还曾释出放行信号，允许银行在香港发行人民币债券。

Currency swap就是我们所说的"货币互换"，指的是两笔金额相同、期限相同、计算利率方法相同，但货币不同的债务资金之间的调换，同时也进行不同利息额的货币调换。简单来说，货币互换双方互换的是货币，它们之间各自的债权债务关系并没有改变。初次互换的汇率以协定的即期汇率计算。货币互换的目的在于降低筹资成本及防止汇率变动风险造成的损失。

Swap在这里指"交换、交易"，如swap experiences就是我们常说的"交流经验"，还有现在网络上很多人都开了swap shop（易货商店），提供二手商品的交换平台。其他的一些用法就来看看这段话吧：

Ｉswap my seat with him.（我与他交换座位）in order to swap swimming skills with Kathy.（切磋泳技）。她刚从foreign exchange swap market（外汇调剂市场）回来，说虽然现在行情不好，但Don't swap horses when crossing a stream.（行至中流不换马；危难之时不宜做大变动）。

Currency在这里指"货币"。此外它还可以指"流通、传播"。如：The rumor soon gained currency.（谣言很快传开了）。The word has obtained general currency.(该词已经通用了)。

It was a great blow to her when her mother died.
母亲去世对她是个沉重的打击。

blow 作为名词，可以是"殴打，突然的打击"的意思。
再如，He felled his three attackers at a single blow. 他一下子撩倒了三个袭击他的人.
